Tunnel under the Neva River will be built by "Nevskaya concession company"

"Nevskaya Concession Company" representing the interests of Vinci French group will build Orlovskiy tunnel under the Neva River in Saint-Petersburg. This company was the only tenderer that had applied for building the tunnel.
As Saint-Petersburg Government Decree says the project of concession agreement will be sent to the city Investments and Strategic Projects Committee within 5 days.
The company is planning to finish the engineering till March, 2011, and to obtain the expert report - in May, 2011, assemble the tunneling system till January, 2013, and to finish building till the end of 2015.
Orlovskiy tunnel - is a road tunnel under the Neva River that will connect the cross-section of Piskarevskiy highway, Sverdlovskaya and Smolnaya Embankments. The traffic capacity will amount to 60 thous. cars a day.
The tunnel complex will include 2 parallel tunnels of circular section. Total length of the tunnel will be 1,7 km, the inner diameter - 12,4 m. The exploitation of the tunnel will be available for a fee.
